HANGEASY is a learning project built around a simple idea: explain the Korean you actually need, then let you test it right away.

Who reviews HANGEASY

HANGEASY is created and reviewed by Hyukjun, a native Korean educator who majored in Korean Language Education at Kyungnam University. He holds a Level 2 Korean secondary-school teaching certificate and has more than five years of experience teaching Korean language and literacy to elementary, middle, and high-school students.

He grew up in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, and can explain both standard Korean and the everyday speech of Busan and the wider Gyeongsang region. His experience learning Japanese and living in Japan also informs the learner-first explanations used throughout the site.

What you’ll find here

HANGEASY combines small rule-based tools with original learning guides. The focus is practical Korean: particles, everyday wording, learner-friendly explanations, and the character of Busan and Gyeongsang speech.

Our editorial approach

Every published example is written or reviewed for a specific learner situation. We prefer clear, conservative explanations over pretending that every sentence has one automatic answer. Korean meaning changes with context, relationship, speech level, and region. When a form is genuinely ambiguous, HANGEASY aims to say so.

Guide pages show their latest review date. Tool rules are tested against natural counterexamples so that an already natural sentence is not changed merely because it resembles a common mistake. When a test reveals an unclear or misleading result, the related example and rule are reviewed together.

Tool limitations

The interactive tools are learning aids, not authoritative grammar checkers or professional translation services. They use curated rules and examples and can miss unusual vocabulary, context, or intentional style.

What makes the project different

HANGEASY does not generate unlimited translations or claim that one phrase fits every conversation. It focuses on a smaller set of reviewed patterns, explains why a form works, and shows when context can change the answer. The goal is not to replace a teacher or dictionary, but to give learners a dependable place to check one pattern and understand the reason behind it.
